Klein Family From The 1940s

Every family has a ton of photos buried in a closet or on google photos. Too many times those photos disappear

Google does a great job with grouping photos into a show. But it’s not really set up to act as a gallery for a genealogy website.

We use Webtrees for our family’s genealogy website. It’s open source and is constantly updated. Webtrees also has a slideshow that go through different photos. It works well. But it’s just a little box on the homepage. You can see on our website.

After much searching, we have decided to go with Piwigo. It’s another open source project that is regularly update and has a lot of plugins to make it easier to work with.

The emphasis on our gallery is on family members who were murdered during the Holocaust. It’s a way of remembering our past heroes.
